Professional Program
After completing the one-year pre-professional course of study you’ll have the chance to enroll in the professional portion of the program where you’ll learn about veterinary nursing, clinical laboratory procedures, radiography, pharmacology, anesthesiology, hospital procedures, surgical nursing and animal disease by working with a diverse group of animals.
Real-World Experience
In addition to lectures you’ll gain practical, hands-on experience by participating in clinical practicums and, after successful completion of all the veterinary technology courses, you’ll enroll in a clinical externship that can be completed at veterinary clinics or zoos, research laboratories and animal rehabilitation facilities.
Professional Development and Leadership
Broaden your horizons and expand your experience outside of the classroom through student organizations, including the Veterinary Technology Club, Saddle and Sirloin Club, Dairy Club, Rodeo Club, Horseman’s Association, Collegiate Cattlewomen, Range Club, Anthrozoology Club and Collegiate FFA. Participation in these organizations help build strong connections with peers and allow you to develop leadership skills.
