Applying for Financial Aid

How to Apply for Financial Aid

To apply for federal student aid, you need to complete the FAFSA or Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free and quick, and it gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school.

Be sure to include the NDSU school code of 002997 so we receive your FAFSA information.

To be considered for financial aid a student must meet the following requirements:

  • Be fully admitted to NDSU
  • Accepted into a degree seeking program
  • Meet FAFSA eligibility requirements
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
  • Must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible for federal Direct Loans.

If you are a professional pharmacy student with questions about how to complete the FAFSA, visit FAFSA for Professional Pharmacy Students.

It is important to complete the FAFSA every year as NDSU and the North Dakota state scholarship/grant office uses your FAFSA data to determine your eligibility for state and school aid, and some private financial aid providers may use your FAFSA information to determine whether you qualify for their aid.
